Pinal County Juvenile Court Community Advisory Board is hosting their annual Character Counts Essay Contest for schools in Pinal County. Winners will be chosen based on their essays about one of the six pillars of character: responsibility, citizenship, respect, fairness, caring and trustworthiness.
Last year the essay contest brought in over 1,400 entries with the top 16 students being recognized at the Pinal County Courthouse in Florence with the Honorable Stephen McCarville as the guest speaker.
Information has been sent to all public, private and charter schools but is open to all Pinal County students in grades K-12, including those home schooled. Deadline for submission is Friday, February 19, 2010.
